ABOUT US
Library Dances is a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Santa Barbara, CA that works to improve students' kinetic understanding, literary comprehension, and self-esteem by teaching them dance and literature.
As part of State Street Ballet's outreach programming, we bring professional dancers into the classroom to provide positive role models and one on one mentoring.
Our goal is to make theater, dance, and literature relevant and accessible to thousands of students whether onstage or in the audience.
UP NEXT
State Street Ballet dancers in residency at La Colina Junior High, Santa Barbara Junior High, Goleta Valley Junior High, and San Marcos High School.
With professional dancers as guides, students will contrast and compare the language, movement style, and plot of "Romeo and Juliet" with the same elements of "West Side Story". This project is made possible by The Leni Fe Bland Performing Arts Partnership.
